seeking Director of CAR-T Biology to join our team in Boston, MA.
Come join the rapidly expanding Lilly Genetic Medicines team at Eli
Lilly! We are responsible for inventing, characterizing, and
advancing novel genetic reagents for a myriad of clinical
applications. Our team works cross-functionally within our
organization across multiple disease areas and platforms. Our goal
is to deliver on the promise of gene therapy to patients around the
world. Job Responsibilities: Develop novel CAR-T therapies at Lilly
by driving data-based decisions for internal and external programs
Develop and execute the organization's strategic vision for CAR-T,
aligning with business goals. Collaborate with executives and
leaders to address key business challenges using biological
experience in applied immunology. Drive the creation and
implementation of screening novel CAR-based technologies, including
logic switches, dual-CARs, CAAR-T, and related technologies Ensure
best practices in model development, validation, and deployment.
Stay updated on emerging trends and suggest innovative solutions.
Integrate genetic medicine delivery strategy into CAR-T engineering
decision making Present analytical insights and recommendations to
senior executives clearly and concisely. Possibility to lead and/or
grow a team to develop novel immunological drugs Job Requirements:
PhD in Biology or related scientific field with 5 years of industry
experience, or Bachelors/Masters in Biology or related scientific
field with 15 years of industry experience. Additional
Skills/Preferences: Proven track record of successfully leading
discovery and translational CAR-T assets, ex vivo or in vivo Strong
experience with immunology, T cell culture, in vivo models, and
related capabilities Deep understanding CAR-T biology,
optimization, and criteria for lead selection Exceptional
problem-solving and analytical thinking. Strong leadership,
communication, and mentoring skills. Ability to translate complex
biology into actionable business strategies Strong project
management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams
and driving initiatives from concept to execution. Additional
Information: This role may require up to 10-15% travel for
conferences or training and will include the opportunity to mentor

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $158,250 -
$275,000 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
