Scientific Officer - Epigenetics and CancerSalary Range: -31,445 - -36,410 per annumKey InformationSalary: Starting salary within the range is dependent on skills and experience.Reporting to: Professor Kristian HelinDuration of Contract: Fixed term for 3 yearsHours per week: 35 hours (Full Time)Location: ChelseaClosing Date: Sunday 25th May 2025Role OverviewUnder the guidance of Professor Kristian Helin, we are seeking to recruit a Scientific Officer to provide high-level support within the Epigenetics and Cancer Group. The role involves performing experiments using basic cell and molecular biology techniques and assisting in the smooth operation of the laboratory. The successful candidate will have experience in molecular biology and biochemistry, including working with tissue culture cells.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will have:

  • A BSc or equivalent degree in Biomedical Science or a related field
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, PCR) and biochemistry techniques (e.g., protein purification, protein-protein interaction analysis, protein-DNA analysis)About the Epigenetics and Cancer GroupDirected by Professor Kristian Helin, our group studies the regulation of fundamental biological processes and their perturbation in cancer. Our research focuses on how chromatin-associated proteins (epigenetics) influence transcription and cell-fate decisions. We utilize a variety of methods in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics (including mouse models), and high-throughput genetic techniques to identify potential therapeutic targets.What We Offer
