Job Description:
HCA Healthcare, a premier provider of medical services, is
seeking a dedicated Nurse Extern for our Behavioral Health unit.
This full-time position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on
experience and mentorship in psychiatric nursing under the guidance
of experienced professionals. Our Nurse Externs play a critical
role in supporting the delivery of compassionate, comprehensive
care to behavioral health patients, assisting with therapeutic
treatment plans, and contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
Assist registered nurses and the healthcare team in the delivery of
patient care for behavioral health patients. Participate in patient
assessments and contribute to treatment plan development. Monitor
patient progress and report significant changes to the supervising
nurse. Assist with patient mobility, hygiene, and comfort. Attend
and engage in educational and training sessions. Uphold patient
confidentiality and comply with all federal, state, and hospital
regulations. Strong communication and observational skills Ability
to provide empathetic, effective patient care Basic understanding
of psychiatric disorders and treatments Proficiency in electronic
health record (EHR) systems Adaptability to various mental health
conditions and patient needs Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
