Location: North Providence, RI Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night –
4x10-Hour (21:00 – 07:00) Job Responsibilities • Perform laboratory
testing across hematology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology,
urinalysis, and blood bank • Function as a generalist supporting
hematology, chemistry, and blood bank (tube method) • Perform
ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening and identification,
crossmatching, and Coombs testing • Operate and troubleshoot
automated laboratory analyzers and instrumentation • Perform manual
testing including CBCs, differentials, platelet counts,
sedimentation rates, and body fluid analysis • Conduct urinalysis
including microscopic examination and crystal identification •
Perform specimen accessioning, collection, receipt, processing,
transport, and storage • Accurately report and document test
results following laboratory protocols • Maintain quality control,
quality assurance, and compliance with regulatory standards •
Follow proper safety procedures including hazardous materials
handling, MSDS, and infection control precautions • Collaborate
with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to
support patient care • Provide laboratory services for neonatal,
pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations •
Work every other weekend per contract guidelines Required Skills &
Experience • Minimum of 3 years of recent Medical Laboratory
Technician experience • Travel experience required (first-time
travelers not accepted) • Community hospital laboratory experience
required • Teaching hospital experience preferred • Strong
experience in hematology, chemistry, and blood bank (tube method) •
Comfortable working independently on night shifts • Experience with
automated instrumentation preferred (Beckman chemistry automation a
plus) • Proficient in specimen handling, quality control, and
laboratory safety practices • Ability to work in a fast-paced
clinical laboratory environment Required Certifications & Licensure
• ASCP – MLT or ASCP – MLS (required) • Active Rhode Island MLT/MLS
