Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a dedicated Hospital Maintenance Mechanic to join our Facilities & Maintenance Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, home health agencies, and hospice agencies operate in a safe, efficient, and well-maintained condition. The Hospital Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine and comprehensive maintenance of hospital facilities, equipment, and systems, contributing directly to our mission of providing the highest quality patient care in a well-functioning environmental setting. Perform preventive maintenance on hospital systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical to ensure operational efficiency. Inspect and repair machines, equipment, and systems ensuring they operate reliably and comply with safety standards. Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required and troubleshoot issues to resolve them promptly. Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures and repair logs to comply with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with facility management to coordinate major repair needs, improvements, or renovation projects. Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and systems to ensure they are hazard-free. Proficiency in handling mechanical and electrical repair tools and equipment. Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
