lab License: Current NH licensure Certifications: ACLS, BCLS;
Graduate from an accredited school Must-Have: - Experience
circulating elective and emergent cardiac cath/PCI - Skills in
Conscious Sedation and Telemetry Description: This position
requires an Invasive Cardiology Nurse to provide care to all age
groups with various cardiac system abnormalities. The nurse will
assess and evaluate patients and families in a collaborative
manner. Accountability for decisions is essential in this role. The
nurse will identify, facilitate, and evaluate outcomes of nursing
care for individual patients or groups of patients utilizing the
nursing process. Coordination of all aspects of procedures is
required, providing technical and medical expertise to medical
staff. Documentation of relevant patient information must adhere to
established standards. The nurse will work under general
supervision and be accountable to the Clinical Manager for nursing
practice. Special equipment used includes the GE Mac Lab along with
EPIC software, IABP, and Impella devices. The unit systems for
medication and documentation include Pyxis and Epic, along with
SBAR and safe handoff procedures. Call requirements include being
on-call every 2-3 weekends. Weekend work is also required every 2-3
weeks. The patient population includes those undergoing routine
cardiac procedures like left and right heart catheterizations, PCI,
and STEMI treatment. The nurse may also encounter device implants
and occasional simple electrophysiology studies and ablations.
Potential exists to perform cardiac stress testing if desired. The
target ratios for staff in the procedure room are 1 nurse to 3-4
patients plus 1 physician. Additional staff is present outside the
procedure room for TEE/CV and stress testing. Pre and
