7:15AM-3:30PM About the Role: The Special Education Teacher plays a
critical role in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning
environment tailored to students with diverse learning needs and
disabilities. This position is dedicated to developing and
implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) that address
each student's unique challenges and strengths, ensuring their
academic and social growth. The teacher collaborates closely with
parents, general education teachers, and support staff to create
cohesive strategies that promote student success both inside and
outside the classroom. By utilizing specialized instructional
techniques and adaptive technologies, the Special Education Teacher
helps students achieve their fullest potential and prepares them
for greater independence. Ultimately, this role contributes to
building a compassionate educational community that values
diversity and empowers all learners. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field from an
accredited institution. Valid state certification or licensure in
Special Education. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state
special education laws and regulations, including IDEA. Experience
working with children with disabilities in an educational setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage
with students, families, and colleagues. Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Special Education or related discipline.
Experience with assistive technology and adaptive instructional
tools. Training in behavior management techniques and positive
behavioral interventions. Familiarity with multiple disability
categories and inclusive classroom strategies. Professional
development or certification in trauma-informed educational
practices. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and regularly
update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each
student's specific needs. Deliver specialized instruction using
evidence-based teaching methods and adaptive technologies to
support diverse learning styles. Collaborate with general education
teachers, therapists, counselors, and families to coordinate
services and ensure consistent support. Monitor and assess student
progress through formal and informal evaluations, adjusting
instructional strategies as needed. Maintain accurate records of
student performance, behavior, and communication with stakeholders,
complying with all legal and regulatory requirements. Skills: The
Special Education Teacher utilizes strong communication skills
daily to build trusting relationships with students, families, and
multidisciplinary teams, ensuring clear and compassionate dialogue.
Analytical skills are essential for assessing student needs,
interpreting evaluation data, and tailoring instructional
approaches to maximize learning outcomes. Organizational skills
support the management of detailed documentation, scheduling, and
compliance with legal requirements. Adaptability and creativity are
employed to modify curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate
diverse abilities and learning environments. Additionally,
proficiency with assistive technologies and behavior management
techniques enhances the teacher’s ability to provide effective,
individualized support that fosters student growth and
